Building on the success of the earlier Khumtai Rapid Chess Tournaments, the event enters an exciting new chapter as Khumtai Chess Vaganza 2026 - a larger, more inclusive celebration of chess, talent and competitive spirit.

Designed to be one of the premier grassroots chess events in Assam, Khumtai Chess Vaganza brings together players from across the Northeast, providing a vibrant platform for competition, learning and sportsmanship. The event aims to promote strategic thinking, intellectual development and healthy competition while nurturing the next generation of chess players.

The championship will feature three competitive categories:

Under-15 (Boys & Girls)

Under-10 (Boys & Girls)

In addition to competitive excellence, Khumtai Chess Vaganza seeks to strengthen the chess ecosystem by encouraging participation among school students, young talents and amateur players, making chess more accessible and inspiring wider engagement with the sport.
