First Kaziranga Chess Carnival

Kaziranga is set to witness an extraordinary fusion of nature and intellect as the First Kaziranga Chess Carnival, taking place on 1 June 2025 at Resort Borgos, Kaziranga. It is organized by Aaghun Foundation in association with Assam Chess Club and proudly powered by Adian.

Bringing together chess enthusiasts from across the region, this one-of-a-kind carnival aims to promote the spirit of chess while celebrating Assam’s rich biodiversity and cultural heritage.

Eligibility: The tournament is open for all. Basic knowledge of chess is required along with FIDE Laws of Chess.

Tournament Rules: Matches will be played separately in 3 groups. Maximum 7 rounds.

System of Play: The tournament will be conducted as per FIDE Laws of Chess and FIDE Swiss System in 7 (seven) rounds with time control 25 minutes each with an increment of 2 sec. per move from move no. 1 In case of tie in the final standing, the latest tie break rule will be adopted.

Protest: Protest, if any, against the decision of the Chief Arbiter shall be made in writing with a protest fee of Rs. 500/- within 30 minutes of the occurrence of the incident. The protest fee will be refunded if the appeal is upheld.

Interpretation: For interpretation of rule(s) and deciding any point not covered by the rules, the decision of the technical committee shall be final and binding. The technical committee reserves the right to make any addition or amendment in such rules without prior notice. However, such changes will be appropriately displayed.
